Iran draws with Russia in Futsal Grand Prix
TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) -- Iran tied with Russia in its opening match of the Futsal Grand Prix Brazil 2010 on Sunday night.
Iran was held to a 2-2 draw by Russia at the Newton Faria Hall in Brazil, Anapolis.
Group D is featuring Iran, Portugal, Russia and Guatemala.
Brazil is the tournament’s most successful team with five championships, and Iran is number two by winning second place twice.
Brazil’s Futsal Grand Prix is an international futsal competition similar to the FIFA Futsal World Championship, but the difference is that the participant countries are invited by the organizers and the host nation.
