Tehran Symphony Orchestra to perform concerts with German conductor
TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) -- The Tehran Symphony Orchestra, under its guest conductor Matthias Kruger from Germany, is to perform at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall for three nights beginning Wednesday evening.
The orchestra’s program will include compositions selected from Mozart, Johann Strauss, and Antonin Dvorak.
Tickets are available both online and at music shops.
In an earlier session held at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Saturday, Head of the Iranian Music Association Babak Rezaii gave some details about the orchestra.
“After a long absence, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra will once again give a performance under the baton of the foreign conductor Matthias Kruger, Rezaii said.
Composer Kruger next talked about his activities as a musician and said, “Most of my work has been with contemporary music, but I am also involved with classic music,” he said at the session.
Matthias Kruger is a German composer and conductor who was born in 1980. He studied composition with Prof. York Hoeller and piano at HfM Cologne as well as at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (CNSMDP) with Frédéric Durieux. He also studied conducting at the HfMDK Frankfurt.
Kruger also talked about the orchestra’s rehearsals and said that Tehran Orchestra has young musicians with high potential.
The Tehran Symphony Orchestra recently gave several performances under Iranian conductor Majid Entezami in Tehran and several other cities.
