TEHRAN, Oct. 23(MNA) – A local judiciary official said four people arrested in connection with the terrorist attack carried out in the southeastern city of Zahedan on July 15.

Two bombs were detonated in quick succession in front of the Zahedan Grand Mosque on July 15. Twenty-seven people were killed and about 300 others were injured in the incident.

The arrested persons had a hand in smuggling explosive materials, explosive vests and storing them in Iran, Zahedan prosecutor general Mohammad Marzieh said on Thursday, according to Hamshari website.

The convicts confessed they were influenced by counterrevolutionary elements outside Iran to sow discords between Shias and Sunnis, he stated.

In addition, security forces had previously arrested two convicts and seven suspects in connection with the terrorist attack.
