Medan, N Sumatra, Aug 2 (ANTARA) - Seven Indonesian female boxers are certain to take part in the Asian Boxing Tournament to be held in India late August, a spokesman said.
Two of the seven boxers came from North Sumatra. They were Siti Aisyah and Sadarmawati Simbolon, Secretary of the North Sumatra branch of the Indonesian Boxers Association (Pertina) Edi Sibarani said on Saturday.
The two were gold medalists in the 2008 National Sports Week (PON) held in East Kalimantan province last month, he said.
"So, the boxers who will take part in the Asian Boxing Tournament in India are those having national achievements," he said.
The other female boxers who will take part in the tournament included Veronika from Jakarta, Indri from North Sulawesi, and Junewe from Papua, he said.
