Armenian PM holds talks with Iran’s VP in Tehran

TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (MNA) -- First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi said Iran is interested in increasing ties with neighboring countries, including Armenia.

Rahimi made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian on Monday.

Tehran and Yerevan have always had close cooperation, he said, expressing satisfaction with the current diplomatic ties between the two nations.

He also underscored the need to accelerate the implementation of Iran-Armenia railway project, saying that the completion of the project would be a big step toward the development of the two nations.

He said Armenia will be connected to other neighboring countries through the railroad and a great transit network will be established between Iran and its neighbors as well.

Sargsian also called for the expansion of friendly relations between the two countries, saying it will benefit both nations.
