“Rumi” puppet show to go on stage in Dubai
TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) -- The Aran Puppet Theater Group will perform the “Rumi” opera puppet show at the Dubai Community Theater and Arts Center (DUCTAC) from November 16 to 18.
Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University, Islamic Azad University and Payame Noor University will cosponsor the performances.
The group will leave Tehran for Dubai on November 13, Aran director Behruz Gharibpur told .
The DUCTAC hosted Aran for the “Rustam and Sohrab” opera puppet show four years ago, Gharibpur added.
He also pointed to the sponsorship by the academic societies and expressed his hope for continued support from Iranian theater groups.
Gharibpur said that the performances will be provided with English subtitles.
He said that Aran has been invited to many countries to perform opera puppet shows and, although the financial aspect is not important to the group, some form of sponsorship would help them cover their expenses.
