4 Britain-linked terrorists arrested in W. Iran: ministry
TEHRAN, Nov. 6(MNA) --Intelligence Ministry announced on Thursday that four Britain-linked terrorists arrested in the western city of Marivan.
A number of guns and documents were seized from the terrorists.
Not only Britain has carried out secret espionage activities in Iran, it has also funded certain terrorist groups to perform activities against the Islamic Republic, the ministry said in a statement following the arrest of the four terrorists.
The ministry also said the culprits confessed to carrying out five assassinations over the past two years.
They also confessed they had received orders from their ringleader, identified as Jalil Fattahi, who was previously based in the Iraqi city of Suleymaniye, the ministry added.
Jalil Fattahi is now residing in the UK.
Fattahi is one of the ringleaders of the Komala terrorist group, which has conducted several terrorist attacks in western Iranian cities since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
The arrested terrorists, Bakhtiar Memari, Hajeer Ebrahimi, Loqman Moradi and Zanyar Moradi, are also the members of the Komala group.
The arrests came after John Sawers, the head of Britain’s secret intelligence service (MI6), said on October 28, that “stopping nuclear proliferation cannot be addressed purely by conventional diplomacy. We need intelligence-led operations to make it more difficult for countries like Iran to develop nuclear weapons.”
