TEHRAN, Nov. 9 (MNA) -- Negotiations on the legal regime of the Caspian Sea should be absolutely fair, the Iranian president’s special envoy for Caspian Sea affairs said on Monday.
Tehran will not change its stance on the documents on the legal regime of the Caspian Sea signed by the Soviet Union and Iran in 1921 and 1940, Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh told.
He also stated that any decision on the Caspian Sea legal regime without Iran’s consent would be unacceptable.
The 27th meeting on the formulation of the Caspian Sea legal regime will be held in Tehran on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki will deliver the opening speech.
Representatives from Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan will attend the conference.
