Commander: Iran self-sufficient in manufacturing military equipment
TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) -- Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari said on Friday that Iran has become self-sufficient in manufacturing military equipment.
Sayyari made the remarks before the Friday Prayers sermons in Tehran.
The Navy is patrolling the coastal waters and Iran’s fleet has been operating in the north Indian Ocean, the Gulf of Aden, and Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea, he stated.
He added the navy battle ships escort more that one thousand trade vessels and oil tankers in those sensitive areas.
