Iranian exports to Islamic states rise 19%

TEHRAN, Dec.1(MNA)-- The director for trade with African and Arab countries of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran stated that the export of non-oil products (gas condensates excluded) to Islamic states rose 19 percent in the 7 months period ending mid-October.

Seyyed Hossein Hosseini said that during this period $7.5 billion worth of goods were exported to these countries from Iran.

He pointed out that in the same period last year $6.3 billion had been exported by the Islamic Republic to Moslem states.

Hosseini added that the volume of exported goods had increased 16 percent during this time and they reached 14.3 million tons in weight.

Pistachio, carpets, tomato paste, tiles, cement, home appliances, shoes, honey, etc. were the main exported items.
