Wikileaks documents aimed to damage Iran’s ties with Arabs: MP
TEHRAN, Dec.4 (MNA)-- Release of classified documents by Wikileaks are intended to damage Iran’s relations with its Arab neighbors, senior lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi has said.
WikiLeaks recently published a document claiming that Arab leaders have been privately urging the United States to take military action to halt Iran’s nuclear program.
The U.S. seeks to undermine relations between Iran and its neighbors especially at a time that the Islamic Republic is trying to expand its relations with these countries, Boroujerdi, chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated.
“We should not be tricked by such tactics,” he told .
He said Washington has always been hostile toward Iran and it does not need any provocation by other countries to launch military attacks against Iran.
The U.S. tried to attack Iran in 1980 which the Tabas incident occurred, it supported Iraq during its war against Iran (1980-88), and it has always been encouraging Israel to take military action against Iran, he explained.
