Leader outlines Islamic-Iranian model of progress

TEHRAN, Nov. 4 (MNA)-- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei outlined the features of an “Islamic-Iranian model of progress.”

In devising the Islamic-Iranian model of progress, four important factors of “thought, science, life, and spirituality” should be taken into consideration, the Leader said late on Wednesday at the first forum held to discuss the features and dimensions of the Islamic-Iranian model of progress.

The Leader said the historical, geographical, cultural, economic, and social conditions of Iran should be taken into account in this model.

The Leader described the “Islamic-Iranian model of progress” as a “comprehensive plan” for the advancement of the country in all areas, saying without a comprehensive plan the government may make misguided and contradictory decisions.

Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasized the need to seek the views of experts in devising this comprehensive plan.

“There are great works” to be done and “the country has many goals to achieve. To achieve these goals, the capacities and capabilities of all intellectuals and academics should be utilized,” he stated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader advised the officials and experts involved in formulating the plan against hasty decisions, saying devising a comprehensive Islamic-Iranian model of progress is a long-term process which necessitates a thorough study.

On the features of the model, the Leader said it should be flexible enough and the objectives should be specified clearly, but the strategies can be modified only with a change in circumstances.

The Leader also said other major development and outlook plans should be devised based on the principles set out in this comprehensive model.
