Iranian, Turkish foreign ministers meet in Manama

TEHRAN, Dec. 5 (MNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday on the sidelines of a regional security summit in Manama, Bahrain.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest international and regional developments as well as issues of mutual interest.

They also emphasized that the crises in the region can be resolved through regional approaches.

The two top diplomats also highlighted the importance of increased cooperation between the two neighbors, particularly in the areas of trade and economy.

Mottaki has visited Bahrain to participate in the Seventh International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Regional Security Summit: The Manama Dialogue. The summit, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, opened on December 3 and runs until today( December 5).

Policymakers and dignitaries from Egypt, Iran Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Australia, Britain, France, India, Japan, Russia, the United States and Turkey are represented in the conference.
