Long-awaited Iran-5+1 negotiations will start today
TEHRAN, Dec. 6 (MNA) -- Iran and the 5+1 group (the United States, Russia, China, and Britain, France and Germany) will resume talks today in Geneva after a 15-month hiatus.
EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton will represent the major powers and Supreme National Security Council secretary Saeed Jalili will represent Iran.
Reportedly, the deputy foreign ministers of the 5+1 group will attend the meetings on Monday (today) and Tuesday.
The Western governments say that they seek re-engagement with Iran on its nuclear program. But, Iran says its nuclear issue will not be the only issue to be discussed during talks and other major international issues such as nuclear disarmament should also be addressed.
