Talks will be fruitful if sanctions lifted: Ahmadinejad
ARAK, Dec. 8 (MNA)-- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the talks between Iran and 5+1 group will produce good results if the international sanctions on Iran are removed.
“If you are honest and law-abiding, and want to talk with us based on friendship and respect to the inalienable rights of the Iranian nation… you should lift all the sanctions and (cancel) resolutions and end your misbehaviors,” Ahmadinejad told a gathering of people on Tuesday in Arak, the capital city of Markazi province.
High-ranking representatives of Iran and 5+1 group (the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany) held two-day talks in Geneva on Monday and Tuesday. Both sides have described the talks as a positive move.
“If you want to talk with us about cooperation in various areas like economic, security, and political spheres, the Iranian nation will accept it.
“But if you seek to deceptively and duplicitously take hostile stances and hold talks dishonestly and regardless of the Iranian nation’s rights, the Iranian nation’s response will be the same firm response you have received so far,” he added.
