Rafsanjani calls on students to be vigilant
TEHRAN, Dec. 8 (MNA)-- Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani urged the students to be vigilant about the promotion of superstitious beliefs in the society.
Students should prevent the spread of “superstitious beliefs” and “blind prejudice” in the society, Rafsanjani said in a message released to mark the Student Day.
Since 1953 the 16th day of the Iranian calendar month of Azar (December 7) has been commemorated as a Student Day to symbolize the struggle of Iranian students against dictatorship.
The Iranian students should not allow the regressive and dogmatic beliefs to hinder the progress of the country, Rafsanjani said.
The Iranian students should also know that the combinations of religion and politics, nationalism and Islam, and commitment and expertise can guarantee the progress and development of Iran, he added.
