Razieh Shir-Mohammadi wins gold in Archery Individual Recurve
GUANGZHOU, Dec. 18 (MNA) -- Iran’s Razieh Shir-Mohammadi claimed a gold medal in the Women's Archery Individual Recurve at the 2010 Asian Para Games in Guangzhou.
Shir-Mohammadi defeated South Korea's Kim Ran Sook 6-2 and won the gold medal of the event.
Joining around 2,500 athletes in Guangzhou for the Asian Para Games are 1,451 team officials, 1,094 technical officials and over 2,000 accredited media from around the world.
The Asian Para Games take place from December 12 to 19 and will see athletes competing in 19 sports which are: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Cycling, Football 5-a-side, Football 7-a-side, Goalball, Judo, Powerlifting, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Ten Pin Bowling, Volleyball (sitting), Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Fencing, Wheelchair Tennis.
Iran is fourth behind China, Japan and South Korea so far. A total of 157 Iranian athletes in 15 sports are vying at the Asian Para Games.
