Iran`s new petchem projects to come on stream
TEHRAN, Dec. 19 (MNA) -- The planning director of the National Petrochemical Company of Iran stated that four new projects will commence production in the Iranian calendar month of Esfand (February 20 to March 20).
Ramezan Oladi added that the largest PVC producing complex in the world will begin work during Esfand in Mahshahr, Southwestern Iran.
The PVC unit of Arvand Petrochemical Complex will be the largest such plant in the world producing 240,000 tons annually, equivalent to 25-30 percent of the global demand.
He noted that according to the timetable the monomers and PVC units of Arvand Petrochemical Complex will be open by late January or February.
He added that other petrochemical units including the light polyethylene of Amir Kabir Complex, part of phase 2 of Fajr Complex and the hard polystyrene unit of Tabriz Complex will come on stream by the end of the Iranian calendar year (March 20).
