C SULAWESI IMMIGRATION QUESTIONING 22 CHINESE CITIZENS
Palu, Indonesia, Aug 9 (ANTARA) - The Central Sulawesi Immigration office has been questioning 22 Chinese nationals since they were arrested by police a few days ago as they were unable to show the proper immigration documents, Palu Immigration office chief Eko Kuspriyanto said here on Saturday.
He said the 22 Chinese citizens were arrested by police on Thursday in a hotel in Palu, Central Sulawesi's provincial capital.
"Immigration officials have been questioning them over the past three days," he said.
Eko said when the foreigners were arrested by police in Palu, they could show their business visas but not their passports.
Yusuf Sadu of the supervision unit of the immigration office said meanwhile that the foreigners could not show their passports when they were arrested because their passports were held by their sponsors, namely PT Pan Cina which was headquartered in Jakarta.
"Their sponsor has come to the immigration office with their passports," he said.
