Pakistan should deal firmly with terrorists: Iran`s EC secretary

TEHRAN, Dec. 26 (MNA) -- Iran expects other countries especially Pakistan to deal firmly with terrorists who enter Iran through their territory, said Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaii on Saturday.

The Pakistani government should itself deal with terrorists or establish a joint military base with Iran’s Special Forces, Rezaii said in a press conference.

Pointing to Iran’s right to go beyond its boundary for maintaining its national security, Rezaii pointed that Iran seeks joint cooperation with neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, to curb the terrorist operations Rezaii noted.

The EC secretary added that today countries cannot establish national security single-handedly and should resort to regional and international cooperation.

He went on to say that Iran has taken serious steps in its campaign against drug smuggling, adding Iran’s fight against drug smuggling benefits other countries too.
