TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) -- Iranian acting Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the political interactions between Iran and Russia should be regulated in way that would benefit the two countries.
“Through an open dialogue, we can regulate our political interactions in way that benefits both nations,” Salehi said in a meeting with Viktor Ivanov, director of the Federal Service for Narcotics Traffic Control of the Russian Federation on Sunday.
It was Salehi’s first meeting with a foreign official as the acting foreign minister.
Salehi, who is also the chief of the Atomic Energy Organization, said Iran and Russia have good nuclear cooperation and hopefully can expand relations in other areas as well.
Ivanov also said that Russia attaches high importance to its relationship with Iran. He said certain world powers are not happy with friendly relations between Iran and Moscow.
