Zionist regime’s spy sentenced to death: Tehran prosecutor
TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) -- Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi announced that a person who spied for the Zionist regime has received death sentence.
“This spy has been condemned to death and will be identified after the court upholds the ruling,” Dolatabadi told reporters on Sunday.
He did not give further details on the case.
Dolatabadi also reassured that the Judiciary will firmly deal with those who take action against the Islamic system.
“It is impossible that the Judiciary, whose chief is appointed by the Supreme Leader, compromises with law-breakers and seditionists,” he said.
The Judiciary official again emphasized that the leaders of the opposition will be put on trial in the near future.
“The prosecution of the leaders of sedition (Mahdi Karroubi, Mirhossein Mousavi, and Mohammad Khatami) will not be far away,” he asserted.
On the recent arrest of pro-reform journalists from Sharq newspaper, he said that six journalists have been detained on security charges.
“They (journalists) sought to issue statements (against the Islamic system),” he said.
