Britain blindly follows U.S.: Iranian general
TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) -- Iran`s Brigadier General Masood Jazayeri said some British officials speak as if their country is still the onetime Great Britain despite the fact that London is blindly following Washington’s policies.
Jazayeri made the remarks in response to the interfering remarks by certain British officials.
It has been a while that the British government has not been playing any important role in the international scene, Jazayeri told on Sunday.
Thus, insulting remarks by Britain’s ambassador to Tehran and half-baked statements by the country’s defense secretary about Iran’s nuclear program are due to the fact that Britain does not follow an independent doctrine, he stated.
The British ambassador has recently accused the Islamic Republic of violating human rights.
On December 20, British Defense Secretary Liam Fox said, "There is no doubt that the application of economic sanctions from here have had a huge effect, and not just for the reason of economics alone. It has also sent a very strong message to Iran that it is increasingly isolated."
