Jordanian official speaks on mutual recognition of certificates

Amman, August 11, SPA-- The Chairman of Zarqa Chamber of Industry in
Jordan Dr Mohammad Al-Tal said that the program of mutual recognition
of certificates of conformity and quality marks signed between
Jordanian Specifications and Standards Organization and Saudi Arabian
Standards Organization contributes to removing non-tariff barriers to
the exchange of goods between the two countries.

In a meeting with Jordanian industrialists, he said that this step
will contribute to facilitating trade movement between the two
countries, calling for action to promote efficiency and effectiveness
of Arab and national customs administrations in the areas of
application of trade instructions in coordination with those bodies
responsible for the application of specifications and standards and
for issuing quality marks between Arab states .

A delegation from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Tabuk,
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has recently visited Jordan and held talks
with officials of Zarqa Chamber of Commerce, aiming at developing and
enhancing trade exchange volume between the Kingdom and Jordan.
