Pointing to Iran’s status in the Middle East and Ethiopia’s strategic position in the Horn of Africa, Salehi said the two countries’ cooperation can help solve regional crises.

He also said a visit to Tehran by the Ethiopian foreign minister would strengthen ties between two countries.

The Ethiopian official also called his travel to Tehran a starting point which can open a new era in relations.

He added that Iran and Ethiopia share common views toward regional and international issues including supporting the Palestinians.
