Iran ties Qatar in Doha
DOHA, Dec. 29 (MNA) -- The Iranian football team was held to a goalless draw by Qatar on Tuesday night.
Qatar and Iran played a friendly in preparation for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup at the Khalifa Stadium.
Qatar striker Sebastian Soria failed to score in the 55th minute while Pejman Nouri from Iran hit the crossbar in the 70th minute.
Iran has been drawn in Group D of the AFC Asian Cup along with North Korea, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates, while the host of the games, Qatar, is grouped with China, Kuwait, and Uzbekistan.
The 2011 AFC Asian Cup will be held in Doha from January 7-29.
