“Lessons from Quran” Iranian teacher Qera’ati honored
TEHRAN, Jan.1(MNA) -- Iranian Society of Cultural Works and Luminaries (ISCWL) held a ceremony on Wednesday in honor of Hojjatoleslam Mohsen Qera’ati, known for his TV programs of teaching lessons from the Holy Quran.
“Lessons from the Quran”, a TV program led by Hoj. Qera’ati, has been broadcast on state TV channel 1 over the past decades in which Quranic lessons are taught to a variety of audiences in his own style of pedagogy.
The ceremony was attended by a group of cultural and political figures among whom were Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini, ISCWL director Hojjatoleslam Mohammad-Javad Adabi, and Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.
Qera’ati expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the program and hoped he could launch the new website of smile and the center of marriage in the future.
He also mentioned that over the past few years, he has had a major role in the construction of about 700 mosques on roads, creating jobs for 1,400 individuals.
IRIB deputy director Ali Darabi regarded Qera’ati as a medium himself who has been active as a preacher over the past 30 years and that his language is the language of prophets.
Hojjatoleslam Ali Akbar Sadeqi Rashad, the director of the Islamic Thought and Culture Research Center named loyalty and creativity as the two major characteristics of Qera’ati.
“Qera’ati is a creative man who has been able to present a new form for programs on TV,” he added.
Acting Foreign Minister Salehi said his special interest to Qera’ati encouraged him to attend the program, saying that his method of teaching is a special one.
“I as one of the viewers sit to watch his programs on TV and consider myself sharing his narration and lessons,” he said.
The ceremony was brought to an end with the presentation to Qera’ati of a copy of “The Standard-Bearer of Truth”, the latest painting by master Persian miniaturist Mahmud Farshchian, and several other honorary mentions.
