Ahmadinejad hopes 2011 will be year of peace, friendship
TEHRAN, Jan. 2 (MNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed hope that the New Year of 2011 will be the year of friendship, peace, and return to divine values in the world.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks on Saturday in separate messages to the leaders of Christian countries as well as Pope Benedict XVI in Vatican, congratulating them on the beginning of the year 2011.
In his message to the Pope, Ahmadinejad voiced his hope for peace, liberation, and protection of the oppressed against the oppressors in the year 2011.
In a message to the leaders of Christian countries, he expressed hope that in the New Year all the people in the world will take steps toward promotion of peace and solidarity more than before.
Earlier on December 28, President Ahmadinejad sent a message, congratulating all Christians in the world as well as his Christian countrymen on the beginning of the New Year.
