Non-oil exports up 22%, hit $22b

TEHRAN, Jan.2 (MNA) -- In the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year (starting March 21, 2010) $22.4 billion of non-oil products (including gas condensates) were exported from Iran showing a 22 percent increase compared to the same period last year
The exported items in this period weighed 50 million tons which is 26 percent more than last year.

Imports into the country in this time reached $47 billion which is also 26 percent higher in comparison to the year before.

The imported goods weighed 33 million tons which is 3 percent more than last year.

Liquid propane was the most popular item exported of which $1 billion was sent out of the country.

China had the largest share of the imports of 18 percent. Iraq imported 17 percent and UAE 13 percent.

Gold was the main item imported into the country covering 10 percent of the imports.

The UAE exported 32 percent of the goods imported in Iran and was the main exporter to the Islamic Republic.

China and Germany respectively stood second and third exporters to Iran with a share of 8.5 and 7 percent respectively.
