FANA discusses Madrid Dialogue Conference

Beirut, August 12 (SPA) - The Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA)
will discuss in its First Annual Meeting here on Wednesday a number
of issues including the definition of principles; views and ideas
put forth in the statement of World Conference on Dialogue held in
Madrid in the mid of July 2008, which was opened by the Custodian of
the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and the possibility
of holding a special seminar for news editors to develop the main
lines of the definition principles that have emerged in that
conference.

The Secretary General of the FANA, Dr. Fareed Ayar said the
Federation would look at a range of activities carried out by the
Secretariat since the last Conference of the FANA held in Amman last
November, including the file on cooperation between Arab and
European, Asian and other international news agencies as well as the
revitalization of the Federation's works through financial support as
well as support the Secretariat's headquarters in Beirut with the
necessary requirements to be able to play its role.
