One Iranian student martyred in illegal unrest in Tehran on Monday

TEHRAN, Feb.16(MNA)-- Following illegal demonstrations in Tehran on Monday a student from Art University was martyred. The student, Sane Jalleh, was martyred in a gunshot fired by Monafeqin (hypocrites) in central Tehran.

According to witnesses in Monday’s unrest four persons were injured in gunshots by rioters in which Jalleh succumbed to his injuries.

Unconfirmed reports also said a second person who was injured in the unrest died later on Tuesday.

Iran`s Deputy police chief Ahmad Reza Radan said on Tuesday that nine security forces were also injured in the shooting incidents.

He said several seditionists were detained.

Radan said Sane’ Jalleh was killed and several people were wounded in the clashes after some armed men opened fire on the people. He added that one injured person is in a critical condition in hospital.

The police official also said that some people encouraged by the “leaders of sedition” and foreign countries including the Unites States, Israel, and Britain took to the streets on Monday to overshadow the high turnout of the people in marking the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution which fell on Friday, February 11.

Radan said dozens of rioters set garbage cans on fire, damaged public properties and smashed bus stations, but the security forces managed to disperse them and arrest a number of protesters.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that one mentally challenged person also wanted to commit suicide to attract attention, and the foreign media outlets tried to take advantage of this event.
