Iran-Greece underline expansion of cultural ties

Athens, Feb 16, IRNA – In a meeting between Iran's VP and head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and Greece Minister of Culture and Tourism here on Tuesday expansion of cultural ties were underlined.
Hamid Baqaei, who is in Athens heading a delegation, discussed issues of mutual interest with Pavlos Geroulanos.
Referring to the old and friendly ties between Iran and Greece, the Iranian VP called for promotion of cooperation in all fields, especially cultural and tourism issues.
Baqaei, by referring to the historical role of Iran and Greece in creation of world civilization, said that the two countries with such a rich cultural heritage have an appropriate ground to make the two nations acquainted with their own historical backgrounds.
Concerning Iran's tourist attractions, Baqaei said that in this concern Iran is among the top 10 countries in the world.
Geroulanos, for his part, said that Iran has a rich civilization with civilized people and Greece will welcome promotion of cooperation with Iran in all fields./end
