Isfahan-Antalya-Qunieh sign MoU

Isfahan, Feb 16, IRNA – Isfahan and Turkish businessmen signed a Memorandum of Understanding in a meeting here on Tuesday.

Head of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mines told IRNA that signing an MoU on economic cooperation between Isfahan, Qunieh and Antalya opens the door for promoting economic ties between Isfahan and Turkey.

Mahmoud Islamian said that considering good relations between Iran and Turkey, an appropriate interaction can be established with Turkey in mutual investment opportunities in the fields of steel industry, mines and tourism.

Concerning existing obstacles in the way of economic interaction between Isfahan and Turkey private sectors, Islamian said that the obstacles and limitations should be recognized by private sectors and transfered to the officials of the government to find a solution to remove the obstacles.

President Abdullah Gul, accompanied with a delegation of political officials, businessmen and reporters arrived in Isfahan on Tuesday afternoon.

Turkey's president attended a dinner banquet hosted by Isfahan governor general Alireza Zaker Isfahani in the venue of Abbasi Hotel.

Turkey's Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Energy as well as minister without portfolio in foreign affairs are among President Gul's companions.

President Gul arrived in Tehran heading a 300-member delegation for a four-day official visit to Iran.

The two countries have close ties in different fields and their economic cooperation level is developing.

President Abdullah Gul will depart Isfahan for Tabriz on Wednesday morning./end
