US pressuring Iran through IAEA on N-Program: Analyst

Islamabad, Feb 16, IRNA – Pakistani analyst Muhammad Saleh Zafar on Tuesday said that U.S. under the influence of Israel is pressurizing Iran through the IAEA over its nuclear program.
Speaking to IRNA, he criticized the statement of Yukia Amano, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expressing concern over peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program without any evidence.
“Definitely Amano has made the statement on the whims and whishes of United States”, he believed.
Mr. Zafar was of the view that the IAEA head should have not made such irresponsible statement without any evidence against Iran’s nuclear program. “I think he has relied upon the information of West which lacks credibility”, he opined.
“We all know that the IAEA has become a tool for the U.S.; yet they have not produced any evidence against the nuclear program of Islamic Republic”, said the analyst. He maintained that U.S. is using the IAEA for its own gains.
He added that spying system of the West is biased towards Islamic countries. The analyst regretted that ‘all information we are getting about Iran’s nuclear program is through Western media’.
The journalist went on saying that U.S. has generated conspiracy against Iran’s nuclear program.
Saleh Zafar said that Iran should be assured that inspection against its nuclear program is not biased. “Iran is a responsible country and would not resist any kind of inspection of its nuclear facilities”, he added.
The analyst opined that Israel is behind the American pressure over Iran’s nuclear program. “Israel does not want to see any Muslim state attaining the status of a nuclear power…U.S.-Israel nexus is a threat to Muslim world”, he said.
Saleh Zafar opined that world's nuclear powers “want to monopolize” technology for their own gain.
The US and its allies accuse Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program, and used this pretext to pressure the UN Security Council to impose a fourth round of sanctions against the country's financial and military sectors in June.
Iran rejects Western allegations against nuclear program, insisting that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA it has the right to peaceful nuclear technology.
