Iran's presidential advisor stresses promotion of ties with neighbors
Kuwait, Feb 19, IRNA – Presidential Advisor and head of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Ali Akbar Javanfekr highlighted Iran’s strategic policy of promoting all-out friendly ties with neighboring countries.
In an exclusive interview with the Kuwait News Agency on the occasion of Kuwait’s National Day, he pointed to the numerous common points existing between the two countries and described Iran and Kuwait as two friendly neighboring countries.
Saying that Kuwait has adopted a fresh view towards international issues, he hoped that such a positive and constructive attitude would help the country play its own fruitful role in regional and international arenas.
Javanfekr further recalled that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Kuwait to congratulate the Kuwaiti Emir when he took office and said such an act on the part of the Iranian President indicated the importance he attached to the ties with Kuwait.
The president’s advisor for press affairs further stressed the importance of exchange of media and press delegations between the two countries with an objective of getting a better view of the situation in each country and believed this will help enhance an atmosphere of understanding and friendship between the two countries.
Asked to comment on the change of the British ambassador to Tehran, he said the UK's behavior in Iran in the past years has not been acceptable at all and it has kept interfering in Iran’s internal affairs and behaving in a non-diplomatic manner.
