Bahrain should take people's demands into account: FM official
Tehran, Feb 20, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry's director-general for the Persian Gulf and Middle East, Amir Abdollahian, said on Saturday that the Bahraini government is expected to take the demands of the people of Bahrain into account in the political process.
He pointed out that the rights of the Bahraini people should be respected to freely express their viewpoints.
'While the demands of Bahraini people can be achieved by the democratic and peaceful means, it is regretful to see that the police have resorted to violence in that country,' Abdollahian added while expressing concern about loss of life in Bahrain.
He said that the Bahraini ruling system should avoid violence vis-a-vis the grievances of its own citizens and pave the way for materialization of people's demands./end
