Senior China official meets N. Korea's Kim Kye Gwan

PYONGYANG/BEIJING (Kyodo) - Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun arrived in Pyongyang on Sunday and held talks with North Korean First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan.
Zhang and Kim were believed to have discussed issues such as resumption of the six-party talks on the North's nuclear programs and dialogue between North and South Korea ahead of Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's visit to Seoul on Wednesday and Thursday.
''At the talks both sides exchanged views on boosting the bilateral friendship and matters of mutual concern,'' North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency reported without details.
Wu Dawei, China's special representative for Korean Peninsula affairs, is not accompanying Zhang.
Zhang held talks with Wi Sung Lac, South Korea's chief delegate to the six-way talks, in Beijing on Feb. 11.
The denuclearization talks involving the two Koreas, China, Japan, Russia and the United States have been stalled since December 2008.
