Iran seeking markets for 4 gasoline consignments
TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) -- The Iranian deputy oil minister Alireza Zeighami said the country has started marketing to export 4 gasoline consignments by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20).
"Iran’s neighbors have priority among the buyers,” Zeighami said.
He said the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company(NIORDC ) has issued a permit for the sale of 1 billion liters of gasoline.
The director of NIORDC said it would be economically justified for Iran’s neighbors as well as some Persian Gulf states to buy the gasoline they need from Iran.
Zeighami said negotiations with the neighbors have started, adding that, some oil-based products are currently being exported to Iraq.
The official had previously said that the Islamic Republic has closed deals with Afghanistan and Armenia for the export of gasoline and diesel fuel to these countries.
The deputy oil minister claimed that Iran will not give its neighbors any discount.
