10-year-old Iranian conductor to lead performances at Fajr music festival
TEHRAN, Feb.23(MNA) -- Ten-year-old Ali Jabbari will be conducting the children’s musical band at the 26th Fajr International Music Festival underway in Tehran.
The Orff band with children under age 10 is scheduled to present the concert “My Homeland”, part of which will be helmed by Jabbari, conductor Masud Nazar told .
“My Homeland” features Persian folklores selected from different provinces beginning from Azarbaijan going through Kurdestan, Lorestan, Fars, Khorasan, Mazandaran, Gilan and Tehran,” he added.
The compositions will take the listeners on the musical tour of the entire country, he said.
However, Banafsheh Farisabadi will also accompany part of the concert with a traditional dance and recitation.
The exact date of the performance was not given in the report. The festival will be running until February 27.
