Iranian MPs pushing ahead with anti-corruption motion
TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) -- Iranian lawmakers are deliberating on a bill which requires the parliamentarians, Judiciary officials, administration officials, top military commanders and members of the Guardian Council to declare their properties before taking up a post and after the end of the service.
The MPs believe that the proposal can prevent financial corruption to a great extent and increase public confidence in the government.
According to the bill, the officials should declare the movable and immovable properties, sources of income, investments, securities, and bank accounts of themselves, their spouses and children to Judiciary chief.
