Standing against nations is futile: Ahmadinejad
TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that resistance against nations’ demands is fruitless and people will impose their will on governments.
Ahmadinejad, who was commenting on the recent developments in the Middle East and North Africa, said, “We call on all countries’ officials to serve people and pay attention to their demands so that people won’t rise up against them.”
“The incidents taking place in some countries are inconceivable and hideous. Bombarding and opening fire on people are completely unacceptable,” the president told reporters on Wednesday.
“We advise all (governments) to allow people make their voice heard and respond to people’ demands,” he said. “They should not slaughter their own people.”
He also expressed regret about violent suppression of protesters in Libya and said he is hopeful that the Libyan government would make up for its outrageous actions.
