43 Iranian MPs seek impeachment of energy minister
TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) – 43 Iranian lawmakers signed a petition pushing for the impeachment of Iranian Energy Minister Majid Namju for his poor performance.
Iran`s Majlis Presiding Board received the impeachment motion on Wednesday.
It is not announced yet when the motion will be put to a vote, but according to the law the minister should appear in the Majlis within ten days since the presiding board acknowledges the receipt of the motion to answer parliamentarians.
The lawmakers who seek a removal of Namju cite a weak management of the ministry, poor planning, failure to fulfill commitments and promises, technical incapability, inappropriate replacement of managers, and long delays in the dam construction and water supply and wastewater treatment projects as the reasons to oust the minister.
