Supreme Leader attends unveiling ceremony for Holy Quran carpet book
TEHRAN,Mar.1(MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that Islamic arts cannot be created under pressure.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in an address to the chancellor and a number of professors of the Tabriz Islamic Arts University during a meeting in Tehran on Monday.
It is essential to attach great importance to Islamic arts and handicrafts in all the various parts of the country, the Leader stated.
A beautiful Quranic carpet was also unveiled during the meeting.
The students of the Carpet Faculty of Tabriz Islamic Arts University have woven the entire Holy Quran in the form of a book whose pages are small carpets.
The book is comprised of 76 two-sided leaves of 70x45 centimeters.
The project began six years ago.
The verses of the Holy Quran were woven in silk and the other sections in wool.
