Samsung pays 331.38 bln won for local medical firm
SEOUL, March 10 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co. said Thursday that it paid 331.38 billion won (US$295.59 million) for its acquisition of a local medical firm.
Samsung said in a regulatory filing that the deal to buy a 43.5 percent stake in ultrasound equipment maker Medison Co. was completed as of February, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The company announced in December its intent to acquire the medical firm from private equity firm Consus Asset Management Co., without disclosing the financial terms, to boost its health care business.
