80-yr-old woman, 16-yr-old boy rescued from quake rubble in Ishinomaki+

ISHINOMAKI, Japan, March 20 Kyodo -
An 80-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy were rescued from a demolished house in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, on Sunday, nine days after a catastrophic earthquake and ensuing tsunami hit northeastern Japan, local police said.
Sumi Abe and her grandson Jin, who were taken to Ishinomaki Red Cross Hospital, sustained no injuries but Jin suffers from hypothermia, according to the police.
While they were looking for survivors in the city, four local police officers found the boy who was on the roof of the demolished house calling for help. The police later found the woman after the boy told them she was in the house.
The boy told the police that they have been stranded at the house since the massive quake hit the area on March 11, and have been eating yogurt and drinking water and coke stored in the refrigerator.
