Head of Iran Red Crescent meets with counterparts from Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia

Abu Dhabi, March 26, IRNA – Head of Iran's Red Crescent Society, who is here to attend meeting of heads of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies of member countries of MENA (Middle East and North Africa), met separately with counterparts from Bahrain, Egypt and Tunisia.

In the meeting with Bahraini counterpart, Abulhassan Faqih expressed Iran's readiness for giving treatment services to the injured in Bahrain.

Head of Bahrain Red Crescent Society, for his part, appreciated Iranian sympathy and readiness for helping Bahraini people and said that considering Iran's abilities, in case of need, Bahrain will use Iranian help in this concern.

He also met separately with Tunisian Red Crescent Society Secretary General Tahir Shaniti and Egyptian Secretary General Mamdouh Jabr and discussed issues in the region of MENA, especially in North Africa, and expressed Iran's readiness to offer help.

Referring to the special situation in Libya, ways of dispatching humanitarian aids from Iran for refugees living in border areas of Tunisia and Libya as well as sending relief aids by sea to residents of Benghazi in Libya was discussed./end
