Turkmen president in Tehran for global Nowrouz fest
Tehran, March 27, IRNA – President of Turkmenistan Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov arrived in this capital city Sunday morning to attend the 2nd world Nowrouz festival to be held today for two days.
Iran's Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ali Nikzad welcomed President Berdymukhamedov on arrival.
A number of Turkmen officials including foreign, culture, research, oil, gas and industry ministers will accompany Berdymukhamedov during his visit to Iran.
Yesterday, the Afghan, Iraqi and Tajik presidents arrived in Tehran to take part in the global Nowrouz celebrations.
They held separate meetings with Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The first global Nowrouz Festival was held in Iran on March 27, 2010.
Nowrouz tradition was registered at UNESCO in 2010./end
