US, North Korea holding talks in Germany
Berlin, March 30, IRNA - American representatives have secretly met with North Korean officials in southern Germany in an effort to end the diplomatic impasse on the Korean peninsula, the director of the Aspen Institute in Berlin, Charles King Mallory, said Tuesday.
Former presidential officials, experts and representatives of the
United States' Republican and Democratic parties attended the
inofficial talks at a secluded castle in the sleepy town of Ehingen.
The German branch of the Aspen Institute is reportedly hosting the talks.
'The talks were about possible ways of closing the gap on the
nuclear issue and on bilateral relations,' Mallory told the German
Press Agency dpa.
A North Korean official was due to give a statement on Wednesday in
Berlin./end
