Iran's Majlis speaker appreciates regional movements

Tehran, April 4, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani appreciated Monday the revolutionary movements in the region and said they are the proof of the Muslims' vigilance.

'These regional movements have made the pro-West autocrats in the region confused,' Larijani said while addressing the first Majlis session in the new Iranain year which started March 21.

Criticizing the message of congratulations sent by the US President Barack Obama to the Iranian nation on the eve of Nowrouz (new Iranain year), Larijani said: 'Today, the Americans cannot say that they are advocates of the human rights and supporters of the world nations.

'…because they have allowed the foreign forces to follow crackdown on the civilians in Bahrain who are demanding their rights in a peaceful way.'

The Majlis speaker further said the US is waging war against the Muslims by using the weapon of force and deceit.

On the recent anti-Iran resolution issued by the United Nations Human Rights Council, Larijani said it indicated the US agitation for being rejected by the regional nations.

Larijani then elaborated on the Majlis plans for the year of Economic Jihad named by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for the new Iranian year./end
