5.4 STRONG QUAKE HITS BIMA IN WEST NUSA TENGGARA
Mataram, Aug 28 (ANTARA) - A tectonic earthquake of a magnitude of 6.6 on the Richter scale shook Sumbawa island in West Nusatenggara province on Thursday.
Data from the provincial administration in Mataram on Thursday said the quake also caused injuries to three people, seriously damaged 75 houses and caused minor damaged to 103 houses.
In addition, five mosques, two government offices, one sub-district office and school building were also damaged.
On Monday, a quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Rama, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara province at 10:59 local time.
Information obtained from the Meteorology and Geophysics Station in Selaparang said the quake was located 8.93 degrees southeastern latitude and 119.02 eastern longitude.
The epicenter of the quake was lies 58 km southeast of Raba, Bima district, West Nusa Tenggara in the depth of 101 km below the seabed. ***6***
